FAQ's Concerning the Metro Elite Program:

1. What is Metro Elite?

  Metro Elite Letter

2. How do we know if your child is ready for Elite?
If your child has exhibited the physical and psychological skills to play competitive soccer, and is willing to dedicate the time and effort necessary to play at the competitive/premier level of soccer.

3. Are the rules different?
Competitive/premier soccer uses the same FIFA Laws of the Game as found in recreational soccer, but the premier Rules of Competition are different. Competitive/premier soccer, as befitting its name, is noticeably more physical and aggressive than what you and your child have probably experienced at the recreational level.

4. How far do the teams travel?
League games are played at Heritage Soccer Park, at 175th and Lackman, Olathe, Kansas, or other venues as determined by Heartland Soccer Association,  but tournament games may be played at out-of-town venues requiring overnight lodging. Practice sessions are held at the Swarner Park (63rd and Lackman), Riverfront Park (43rd & K-7), and other venues as determined by the SSC.

5. What are the costs?
The seasonal registration fee is $90, payable prior to rostering.  Metro Elite Premier Registration Elite coaches are also permitted to charge a monthly fee commensurate with their coaching license/diploma/certificate for those months in which they are providing coaching services. Go to: Metro Elite Letter and Metro Elite Coaching Guidelines, for further details.  Elite teams are required to wear the Metro Elite uniform, which are sold by the club at cost.

6. Are there Tryouts?
Tryouts begin the Saturday immediately following the Kansas State Cup competition, usually mid-June of each year.  Exact dates will be posted on the Club's website. All players, both incumbent and novice, are expected to participate in all sessions unless advised otherwise by that age group's coach. A coach may opt to conduct individual tryout session's in addition to the scheduled sessions. Call the SSC info/rainout line, 913.905.5909, for any updates concerning tryout dates/times.

7. What happens if your child isn't selected?
Any child who is not selected for a team will be contacted by the coach as soon as possible and may be referred to a non-Metro Elite premier team for a tryout.
